Student-Scientific Association of the Faculty of Chemistry, Amirkabir University of Technology

Introduction
What is a Student Scientific Association?

As the name of the Student Scientific Association suggests, the association is a student organization that works in the scientific field. The Student Scientific Association is a place for voluntary scientific activities in the form of a working group. Students come together with scientific and specialized goals, and by working in the Student Scientific Association, they promote and deepen the scientific atmosphere in universities, providing the ground for their growth. The Student Scientific Association, in addition to being a place for deepening and promoting science in the university environment, is also an opportunity to implement what has been learned and observe its results in action. Therefore, it is not far-fetched to think that an active student in the scientific association is an individual who is much more capable and experienced than his classmates. Capabilities include teamwork skills, turning ideas into action, communication, management, and implementation, securing financial costs, collaboration, free-thinking, and critical thinking. As mentioned above, those capabilities and skills make the output of universities more worthy and capable in practice.
The Faculty of Chemistry's Scientific and Student Association was established in late 2020. The Central Council of the Faculty of Chemistry's Scientific and Student Association consists of 5 main members and two alternate members. Every year in March, students of the Faculty of Chemistry participate in the elections of the Scientific and Student Associations held by the Administration of Scientific and Student Associations of Amirkabir University of Technology, and they elect five members of the Central Council from among students of different academic levels of the Faculty of Chemistry who declare their candidacy. Students interested in becoming members of the Scientific Student Association can volunteer for the Scientific Association Management Council by completing the candidacy form and submitting it to the faculty cultural expert. After the election results are determined, the new members of the Central Council determine the positions of each member of the Central Council in their first meeting together. The members of the Central Council work in various sectors, including education, research, innovation, scientific competitions and visits, educational workshops, etc. The members of the Central Council also participate in the International Festival Harekat (means Movement) held nationwide by the Cultural and Social Deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology every year and bring honors to themselves and the faculty.
Every year, at the same time as the elections of the Scientific Student Associations are held, the faculty Scientific Association Advisory Professor is also selected from among the respected faculty professors and accompanies the members of the association throughout the year.
